“One today is worth two tomorrows” - Benjamin Franklin

Hoping for a better day today as well as tomorrow for London and the United Kingdom.

It’s September the 8th, 2022 and I’m on a train from Paris headed to London. The Eurostar rail takes only two hours and fifteen minutes, hardly enough time for anything new to happen. I was listening to the new Danger Mouse featuring Black Thought album. He is known for mixing British musicians vocals over funky 70’s beats. I thought it fit the mood being that I was on my way there. Suddenly I was interrupted by a message over the loud speaker in the train, saying that a 96 year old woman had been laid to rest. Just that quick history was made and my trip to London would change drastically.

As an American I can’t understand the meaning and role of a monarchy and neither do I try to. I simply respect the feelings of others, regardless if I understand it or not. Usually I ask an important, serious question to the people I meet while out photographing but this trip I wouldn’t dare to. There seemed to be a different mood in London, similar to a feeling you might get when you are on a long road somewhere but not sure where it’s taking you.

To my friends in London, I hope that road leads you in the direction that you want to be.
